FYI, since a lot of people asked me about whether video on demand would affect SBL’s awards eligibility, this is actually a workaround for that. The Academy rules specifically state that a film must screen in Los Angeles county for at least 7 consecutive days during the calendar year for paid admission in a commercial motion picture theater to be eligible (and that movies with alternate non-theatrical media releases beginning on or after the first day of the qualifying LA County showing are still eligible.) [x]
